One probably for T1.
Building a new battery for the solar system going in in a couple of weeks, 48v x 400 Ah Winstons
T1, did you ever find a way to clean the battery terminals before assembly. I have strapped them in the box already so difficult to run a file across the top, any other suggestions ?
Got to get this assembled before a total knee replacement early next week.
Cheers
Bill

Re: Lithium terminals
Bill when I had them I just used 400 grit emery on the end of a finger on the terminal & similar on the straps. Don't take any off really...... more like polish them. Good wipe over with clean cloth & then a very fine smear of paste. The paste is really only to fill any minute scratches on either. I learnt years ago that too much paste on computer CPU's is a good way to fry them. I admit on CPU's it's about heat dissipation & not electrical conduction. All these big words..... got no idea what they mean!

Re: Lithium terminals
Looks good!!
How far do you need to shift it to? Guess you have a fork lift handy though.
Bill I put a fuse on each sensor wire "just in case" & it did save me a few times.
I still have a fist full of 1A if you want? I used those block of 8 fuse blocks.

Re: Lithium terminals
It is on heavy gate wheels Bruce, it will slide under the switchboard, 1800 x 600 whiuch will be on its side to take the three Victron Multiplus's.
I have the wires on the battery in VP fused, will get to these in time, had tp get it finished before knee op.

Re: Lithium terminals
In the old PMG days in the battery room we used to buy a new untouched by human hands wire brush and brush the terminals to a clean finish to remove any oxidization and the same on the busbars or cables with a thin layer of paste.
I aspire to inspire before I expire.

Re: Lithium terminals
Yehh ..... I remember that, those Brass Wire brushes were a treasured keeper.
The battery room was a thing of power unlimited with 2 banks of batteries that could melt a 5x1" busbar in a flash, saw it done, and the ensuing panic as the exchange went Offline.

Re: Lithium terminals
I have used solid bar drilled to take bolts at the right places 25 x 3.2mm. I have always used this and had no problems and way cheaper than the flexible ones. I am wanting to get a top on the battery before someone drops something on there !!!!

Clear perspex. Can drill it & see the mouse nests thru it.
