That's a long storm front, and coming cross country rather than in from the ocean. Is that the normal direction for storms around Brisbane?

Our wild storms alway come up from the south, the big winds from the west, never the two combined thankfully. The storms come in from the ocean full of water, hit the mountain range and turn up along the coast and dump their load.
