Don't think our TV was that big in the early 60's. I remember trying to watch the cricket and it was hard to see the ball. Fuzzy picture, the kids these days have no idea ......

I remember my parents purchasing a TV so that we could watch the Melbourne Olympics in 1956. It was 17 inch (430mm).

 I was 1 yr old then George  We didn't get our first TV until after my father died, so maybe '67 or '68 .... a little B&W fuzzy picture thing, probably 3rd or 4th hand ..... but it was a television :D
The only time we had a chance to watch TV was when visiting Nanna and Grandad or one of the aunties or uncles .... other than that, we sat around the single speaker in the "Radiogram" and listened to radio shows in the evenings, like "Life with Dexter" .... that's about the only name I can remember, but I still remember some of the funny skits like it was yesterday .... all made up out of pictures in my head ......

In 1976 I was still watching Bathurst on my 12” ‘portable’ B&W TV.
It was a Swedish-designed thing — very up-to-date looking — with a built-in handle on top, and built-in rabbit ears aerial but quite heavy.
Didn’t upgrade to a colour TV until about 1990~91ish.
By then you couldn’t even give away a B&W TV… went to the tip, still fully functional. Of course, that was BRC.
Before Remote Controls.
