Wouldn't bother about the USA or Musk, they're on the way down the drain. What's more important and ridiculous is our government is selling the essential minerals for weapons and in particular nukes to china, because they don't have them and
the chinese are stockpiling EV's here because our stupid government has given them concessions for importing EV's, instead of for them being sold here. So we have tens of thousand of Ev's parked up so BYD can get concessions and tax breaks even though they've not sold them.
To make matters worse our stupid politicians are building up our defence capacity, to counter china whilst selling the chinese all the materials and minerals they don't have and need to build their war machine and more nukes.
Now you can't get any more brain dead and insane than that approach to the future and it's all to do with short term profit growth for corporations and not our countries safety or economic future.
No idea where you get your info from, hard to tell fact from left or right wing bias, but this one is attacking the left wing govt for joining action against anti dumping laws
https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal ... 5myzk.html .... so it is highly unlikely they are subsidising the imports.
More likely, China needs to clear right hand drive models from Chinese manufacturing yards to make things look better to the locals, so they are heavily subsidising the transport for vehicle that already very low profit margins for the manufacturer.
Flood the market to drown out competition, the Chinese govt sees it as a better policy to keep their people employed rather than paying them to be unemployed, get bored and start political unrest ..... makes sense to me ...... pay the govt owned manufacturers to keep people employed, no money going into overseas executive pockets, maybe the party faithful pockets, but what govt operates without some level of corruption ... in fact, what organisation can say there is zero corruption within their ranks ......
I can say this forum doesn't run on corruption, it's actually anti corruption, we pay to keep it alive

but there is no way you could consider this forum to be organised
What makes you think the Chinese source weapons grade materials from Australia? I know about a right wing Govt that was selling sand rich in weapons grade material to a middle east country that was mostly sand .... but never bothered to find out why they were buying it ... it was a change of govt saw that things didn't add up and had the sand tested .... then immediately blocked any further exports from the site ..... a friend bought the site a little while back, very cheap, needed some where to store his cars .... pity it's so far away, I could pay to store mine there as well
