Winnebago Esperance

Post by Craig »

Can someone tell me what the Tare weight is on these models. I know they have a de-rated GVM 4495, but am interested in how much they can carry.

ring parkland Winnebago in perth, they should be able to give you the good oil.
we looked hard at them, but were not impressed with the overall finish, and the boss wanted a couch to sloth on

Just read my spelling in the title   It should be "Winnebago Esperance" . If one of you kind Mods could change it for me, that would be great.

Craig you'd have to go weigh your unit.

You could look up the specs on the truck chassis but that'd be as a bare chassis vehicle prior to fitting any tray or body etc.
Winni may have 'rough' specs but I'd reckon so many are made to order that I doubt any 2 would be the same.
Looking up a few here it seems like Isuzu you can derate it from 4990 to 4490 but I'd reckon at 4490 you'd need to be very careful how many tinnies you put in the fridge. Might need plastic plates as well.

The chances of you being weighed with "car" plates on is very little. It's more about your safety with tyres & brakes perhaps?

Thanks for your input guys  . So no one can answer the question that was asked  ? I asked if anyone could tell me the Tare weight of an Esperance. I didn't say I was buying one :? . Looking at the truck website will not give you the answer as the tare weight is the unladen weight of the finished vehicle :? , I am not concerned about being pulled over as I don't own one, but if you own one of these vehicles you may be pulled into one of the 4.5 t weigh bridges or even the 8t weigh bridges if towing. and I do realise that you would be limited to how much you can carry if the MH has been de-rated to a GVM of 4495kg, That is why I asked the question. :|

Craig, what is a 4.5 t weigh bridge? The only ones I am familiar with are the heavy vehicle weighbridges and mobile scaly set-ups

There are two 4.5t weigh stations in NSW, they are Chinderah on the Pacific Highway and Pine Creek
Pacific Highway.

Well no-one can answer the question you pose.
You could take out 20 glasses of water and get 20 different tare weights.
Carting wheat to a silo you have to weigh the loaded truck & tare off EVERY time.
I did 6 loads over two days on one tank of fuel carting around 40km a round trip and you could see the tare going down by around the same amount each trip as the fuel was used.
I would think there would be limited ability to carry extra water, fuel or slabs of beer.
I'll ask a chap here that has one & see if he's ever weighed his. (Esperance)

Admin,

Of course the Tare weights are available, how else do you know what your Net weight is? you need to know what the GVM and Tare weight is so you can calculate this. The minor differences on a standard Esperance would not equate to much. We are not selling grain here. Every vehicle will have an unladen weight (weight of an empty vehicle). I would have thought it would have been stamped on the vehicle compliance plate and hoped someone that owned one could tell me.
