I think it's a pumping station? I presume to pump clean air down the mine to provide oxygen and to remove dust down in the underground copper mine?

Don't have my computer with me to check my photos, but from memory it's the old engine house. The Cornish mined Moonta.

Once again have reduced the photo of the sign describing Richmond's engine house. Have used Microsoft Office Picture Manager as well as my photographic program & after trying to post the photo twice told it is too large! So annoying!

The old Hughes engine house is over the road from this one & not going to try to post the photo  It is a round stack (Cornish) compared the the Welsh ones which are square.

Kay those programs only reduce the size by width & height but do NOT reduce the pictures in quality. (in other words compression.)
You need Irfanview or a similar program.
The following website has one that you can use online or (best) if you download it & use on your computer saving heaps of 3G data costs.
http://www.imageoptimizer.net/Pages/Home.aspx
Select your picture.
Set to Quality to "small size". (compression)
Set to "max width" of 850.
Select optomize now.
