Hope they get him sorted Dot,They were pretty good to me when i was in there.Just been to Dr myself, Woke up at 5am this morning thought i was falling down a bloody great hole hanging on to the bed for grim death.Got up and promtly went dizzy with the room spinning round. Got verigo it seems.Never had it before.Hope it goes quickly too..

Had a call from the hosp this morning to say they had booked G in for an XR and U/Sound ? DVT and that I had to go with him, hello I can barely walk myself the last few days so then I get told the ambulance has arrived early and that I had 15 mins to get to the hosp.. Ok get there unwashed and no breakfast etc, hop in the front of the amb and off we go.. Get to the XR dept and he's into the room XR done then put into a holding bay on the bed (head up foot end) waiting for U/sound but he needed a pillow under his knees so I asked for one, sorry NO spare pillows so I put his head pillow under his knees and folded up a blanket for a pillow. Waited till 11am for U/sound so being nosey I asked the girl "Any DVT"? = no she replied = good. So back out into the holding bay to await for the amb to return. There was an elderly lady sitting in a wheel chair also waiting for amb transport, she was waiting for 2 hrs when our crew turned up for G. Anyway get back to the hosp at 12.30pm and by now he is really needing pain relief.. When he went to hosp yesterday he was in his trackie dacks, shirt, sox & undies, today he was in his trackie dacks, shirt, sox and no undies ?? NO face wash teeth clean , shave no straw so he could drink etc etc. WTF are these ?? nurses doing for their pay? sorry not every nurse is "run ragged" because they can sit at the desk and yabber about their upcoming weekend or what ever. From what I could see on the XR I would have at a guess of a buldging disk around L5 but wait and see. I took the XRs to my chiro to read for me because I do not want to wait till the other Dr gets to the hosp in the evening and I do not believe he should of had an ordinary XR he should have had a CT if not an MRI but that WILL come believe me.. The Dr's here are so scared to get tests done because of the cost but if I have to take the little fella out on a sinking boat then tip him over to sink or swim to get the correct treatment then I will and an advantage will be NO COST. End of rant for now..

You are right Dot, DEMAND an MRI in the morning and don't take no for an answer. That is the only way to be absolutely certain of where the total damage is (I am sure you know all that too). I don't understand why the docs take so long to get to doing the complete examinations and completely eliminating many other scary things. You both seem to have suffered too much for your last trip. Lets all hope that you get to finish another trip very soon, minus the bloody back pains.

Rang the hosp just before for report.. Dr and Physio not in today so they will try to get G up. Blood test ordered "For what?" says I he doesn't have a DVT.. ""um I don't really know the Dr ordered it" Once again I asked if he could have a monkey bar to help him move at his own speed, "We are full up" was the reply, "I replied, "Well I am sure there is a 99yr old that does not require one" going to drop in to my GP in Mt Barker this arvo and see if she can get G transferred over to where she is.. Pack of twats here.

Well all good plans go astray. I couldn't get in the car to get to Mt Barker even after taking some pills so plans got changed.. Went to see the little fella this arvo, he had been given some extra "good drugs" so they could get him out of bed to stand up. He managed to stand on his good leg then was able to take a few steps with the help of a walker. Still no monkey bar and still has not been offered a wash or even a bowl of water for him to wash his face or clean his teeth I know they were not full at all because I know where the admin board is plus my friend works there think they can fool this grumpy old fart huh? They are just lazy lazy sods. He will be ok I reckon with some more rest and really good drugs.. Thanks for all the messages from you lot. appreciate them all xx

Geez Dot, it's really bad timing that you are both so incapacitated, but at least you got to Nanango and back, before it got so bad.
Keep on fighting for the poor ole bugga, he should be getting much better care than that non-care that he seems to be suffering at the mo. Is it time you got your chiro to do a house visit for your back? It's only money, your health is worth so much more.

Had some really crappy weather over here in WA - although it looks as if it might just be settling down a bit, hope so, if it does then I'll send some good stuff over as well.
