Sorry Kay. Have been distracted since my iPhone got pinched. You are correct (I wondered how long it would take you to remember where we stayed). Standown Park is a really nice spot. Originally developed as a retreat for Veterans but now open to all. Reasonable rates $25 powered, $18 unpowered, CMCA members $21 and Veterans get a 28% discount on powered sites. Unfortunately, Erich's SwissArmy service didn't count.

We were there for 9 days at the end of our trip, unpowered in the middle of a great big grassy area.
We will be there again from 28th Nov till 2nd Dec for the KOG Xmas gathering.

Not WA. Trust you to jump in quickly & get the correct place. It is the worked out opencut at Lightening Ridge. 
It is a real eye opener to just what big business is all about. They raped the area, took out all the opal they could sieve out including beyond their lease area and then just left to hole in the ground that destabilised all the diggings around it, and the powers that be just let them get away with it.
Where the 2 shipping containers with the vertical boring machines still near that site Kay? they should have just about processed every bit of their mining lease by now.
Can you put another one up Kay, I don't have any new one cause I don't get out much
