Isn't good that you can't see the screen the surgeon is looking at Is the radio therapy actually a skin piercing needle There are 8 spots where they stick the needle into just one side on my neck so far, and they are the size that take a flesh core sample when they are stuck in, imagine the size of a needle you could fit a radio in

Any one else cranky at the sentences given out to crims lately? I am still fuming over the 12mths suspended sentence given to those army men for that sex video, compared to the man in Adelaide that knocked off some motors from Holden, he got 6 yrs in jail Seems these judges "approve" of some crimes more than others.

It was quite interesting listening to the guy on the telly who is in charge of the emergency services involved in these bushfires, Shane or Shaun somebody. When asked by journalists about the report that the fires near Lithgow had been started by the army doing exercises using live incendiaries, and what investigations would be done, he replied that yes, they had been started by an army exercise and that the army and authorities would be doing an investigation, and then he added that unlike fires being started by deliberate intent, these fires were started as a result of usual activities. I find that quite astonishing. For a start, surely there is some duty of care to ensure that activities such as this are conducted in a safe manor whilst ensuring safety to the general public. Why on earth was the army involved in activities like this, setting off live incendiaries in one of the worst "bush fire conditions" you could imagine?? if its stinking hot, and the winds are hot and the winds are blowing at a gale, then you don't go out in those conditions and let off incendiaries, that will get hot and will be hot when they land back on the ground.
Duhhh!!!!!
Now, a few years ago we had devastating fires on the Eyre Peninsular. Fires got out of control and people died. The fires were apparently started from a hot exhaust on a farm vehicle igniting dry grass as the vehicle pulled off onto the side of the road whilst the driver was out prospecting for gold. Now that person was going about his normal activities, he was not out there with a box of matches being mischievous, he did not intend to start a fire, yet he was faced with serious charges of starting a fire.
"Meanwhile, the man charged over the fires, truck driver Marco Visic Jr, has issued an emotional statement through his lawyer, Mark Semmens.
Mr Visic, 40, was last month charged with breaching a section of the Country Fires Act by not having a spark arrester in good order. The fire allegedly took hold when Mr Visic's car was driven in long grass near Wangary.
"My client feels immense sorrow for the devastation caused by the bushfire, to those who lost property and, more so, to those who were injured or lost loved ones in the fires," the statement says. "Mr Visic Jr and his family have suffered emotionally and are distressed by the fire, its consequences and the court charge. Mr Visic asks that he and his family are not vilified for what is the most tragic event on the Eyre Peninsula this century."
The fire claimed nine lives and destroyed 93 homes as it tore through 77,000ha of the lower Eyre Peninsula. Farmers reported 237 sheds and 139 pieces of farm machinery were destroyed. Almost 47,000 head of livestock was lost, including 46,139 sheep. "This guy was sued by one of the land owners who lost property, and Mr Visic then tried to sue the CFS for not doing enough to protect the property owners and for not acting correctly to ensure they stopped the fires adequately, apparently they refused an offer from a private owner, to use 3 firefighting planes to help put out the fires.
God knows what sort of financial loss this guy went through to fight the charges in court, and he lost his house in the fire as well from the look of the reports
Same ol same ol I guess Jenny, one rule for him and another rule for him. Judges etc all need to read the same rule book and stick to them. Bit like the rat bag feral copper we had here, his motto was "Do as I say, not do as I do"
And why isn't the army out there in force fighting these fires anyway?
