Removed Sterling Battery 2 Battery charger, connected Positive of starter battery to Positive of house battery via an isolation switch so that the alternator, as well as charging the starter it will charge the house. Also, when connected, the starter will receive charge from the solar when engine is not running.

I may also install another 24V 250watt solar panel via a PL60 controller which will replace the current Dingo 2020.

finally finished the water pumps. Redundant, insulated, spring mounted. The little drinking pump makes the most noise but its hard mounted, not much usage so we will live with it.

Fitted an "auto-fill" valve, basically a fancy float valve. Works really well, will be able to hook up and it will fill without overflowing the main tank. Took a bit of figuring but thems the breaks

Reminds me of the space-race of the '60s.

It didn't work how I expected, there is an internal bleed that stops the main flow if it is held back or sufficient pressure to indicate depth is reached. Muggins here considered it would need back-flow FROM the tank to float its boat (so to speak). Hence a little re-plumbing. Every day is a school day

As an experiment for future use in the bus, made a peltier cooler from a very old metal esky found at the transfer station for the truck. It will run from a 7amp 24dc-12vdc converter, the peltier only uses 5amps flat out and the new radio 1amp, so should be fine. Used a chromed large soap holder from the same place to protect the peltier from dog paws and it works much better than the bought ones we have.

Cost was $18 for the peltier unit with 2 fans, 2 hinges $6 and a lock down clip, $5. Plus a coat of rust proof paint. Will build a double peltier cooler for the bus to keep drinks cool when travelling and run it from the gel pack, if this one lives up to it's first few hours. Did an experiment with single and dual peltiers and found using dual peltiers drops the temp dramatically compared to one, but they use 10amps which is 120w so can only be used when the engine is going and will connect it to the ignition for safety sake.
