Yowsa, that's pretty rich...
Makes my spend yesterday look pretty good.
Finally picked up all my power steering gear from O G Automotive and I must say I'm very happy.
Completely reconditioned power steering box, there is no kit for my Nissan PRX102 bus, so he had to find seals and parts from all over.
Repacked and calibrated the intermediate hanger, did both my steering shafts, swapping the balls from end to end as they wear on different sides.
And built me a V8 Commodore power steering pump to fit my pulley. My original was unrepairable and none available anywhere.
All up $1460.
So now I have to make new brackets for the commodore pump, but it's a lot smaller so wont be much of an issue.
Getting the box back in is a pain though, it weighs about 30Kg and it's a damn tight fit.
I actually had to cut some of the floor out to get the thing out...
Cheers,
What did you do to your rig today?

Repaired my folks Thetford C402 dunny which was eating fuses. Removed the pump and direct connected it to the van's battery bank. The pump spun up OK, so figured it was just a bit stuck and therefore snapping the 3A fuse.
Refitted, and all worked as it should. Magic [emoji106]

Heading home to finish bolting the Thermoclear roof down, but then that's the house not the rig so maybe it doesn't count

Congratulations Jim, do you plan to buy a replacement or are the travelling days over for now? I guess the lead up to the holiday season is the ideal time to sell an RV at the best price so hopefully it worked that way for you as well.Jim wrote:Sold it!!

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Did a oil change and all the filters today. I stuffed up when doing the fuel filter and the line back to the tank drained. It took forever to reprime the line. I finished up have to slightly pressurize the tank to get it to bleed out. It's all good now but I was pi**ed off to the max at around 4.00pm though. Worst part is that I know that it was operator error. Beer O'clock and all is well,
Cheers
