Oh Ray, Missed your post. We are on the lake at Mannering Park. I grew up at Belmont and promised myself that I would retire to the lake. So after 30 very long years in the city we returned here 10 years ago.
Now you know, curiosity should be happy too. xx

Had to look up Mannering Park on Google Maps.
When I grew up on the Lake, I'm pretty sure that point was called Gwandalan!

After leaving W.B. at 18, and working in country NSW, SA & a short stint in Canberra, I spent 35 years in Melbourne raising a family. During that time I revisited the Bay a few times, and promised myself I would NOT retire to the Lake! Especially to Warners Bay! It's now just another suburb of Newcastle, not the country village I grew up in.

Rutherglen is 7th Heaven as far as I'm concerned. There's 2000-odd people here (I'm one of the oddest ), and 26 vineyards in the area... I still have about 15 to visit, and we've been here three years!

Still, I hope you enjoy the Lake... horses for courses.

Yes Lance, it is rather "over warm "up here and no real relief in site. It keeps teasing us with some odd clouds, but nothing is cooling us except the air conditioner.
Ray, you are so close. Gwandalan is where the old National Fatness camp (called Point Wolstoncraft) was. It's still there by the way, but Mannering Park is the next big bay South of Gwandalan. There is nothing more Southerly on this side of the lake. Wyee Point is on the Western side of our bay, ie opposite us. This is really a small country town, unlike the metropolis of Warners Bay, where the "elite" people live. I really feel at peace here when I sit on the verandah watching the sailing and ski-ing pass by, as you said "horses for courses"

Intended to 'just catch up for 20 minutes'... that was at 2330h! Now our clock has just chimed TWO!
Gotta go catch some zzz.
Blame it on the day-surgery. Anaesthetic has now worn off...
Elbow is still bluddy sore, and I have not yet recovered feeling in my pinkie - the purpose of said surgery.
