Ray, it's only 1:30 here, but as it's too hot to sleep and I am watching a large fire across the bay, I may as well come and annoy you lot. Well I might annoy you , if any one was up and about!

Hoping you are all safe there Shirley. The fire has certainly glowed up in the last hour or two. It's weird watching what looks like a huge red ball in the darkness, not at all like sunset! It is basically at Morisset, across the bay from us, but it seems much closer in the nightlight. Thankfully, there is a lot of lake between us and the fire.

Helicopters were active during the night and the fires are all out, yay. But it has still been another scorcher of a day. Smoky air and heat, so I stayed in under the air con and vegged. Nothing much for it, I am so tired from this heat and they keep promising rain, but it vaporises before it can land.
Hope all of your promised doom and gloom, weather wise, was not such a problem.

Where is everyone?? We had a nice day out of the house. Went to Mt Barker got our hair cuts, did some shopping at (Dan Murphy's) then headed to Glenelg where we had afternoon tea with Bron & SteveW in their super new home where he takes most of his fab photos from. George loved the visit as he got to bring some left over delights Bron had made. Anyway time to say goodnight everyone x Goodnight Tanks x:) Hey Deborah, my friend was on standby to get her horses out from those fires but they got missed. Scary stuff huh

Spot on Dot, they were scary fires (like they always are scary), but just as annoying that the backburns would have prevented a lot of the terrors. Another hot one today, at least we had a little breeze, but the rest of the week looks just as hot. So don't be surprised if I just melt into the corner.

I know it's early for me, but the heat is just killing me. 40 today and more of the same tomorrow, it's 30 at the moment, nearly midnight, so you can imagine what tomorrow will bring. After you finish gently twisting those curtain rods Dot, better get some shut eye.

Great time for our air-con to go on the blink!
Got to 46* in the shade in Rutherglen today!
At 2100 it was 38* in the loungeroom. Had to retreat to the breakfast room to watch tennis on the kitchen TV. Good thing we installed a small split-system in our breakfast room/kitchen area!
Still 29* in the bedroom. Ceiling fan helps - a little.
