Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

All right, yes I have a few other places to visit when the reception is good. At Isa, the reception is **** ie not good.
Weather has been fantabulous. Today was 30 and tonight will get down to 15, just nice tshirt weather and easy to sleep.
I am just loving the meerkat manors that we keep seeing in the white ant colonies. They have kept me amused on each longish journey, perhaps I am easily entertained on the road.
Dot, please stay a little bit healthier. You aint sounding too good... almost quoting my heath history back at me. The other alternative isn't really an option is it? :o

No I am not going to bed just yet, but I wish to do some travel research before the lousy connection gives out.
So good night from me xxx
Deborah

I'm baaaack. Yes it's way too early for me, but it's really hot and we are moving on tomorrow, so an early-ish start is needed.
Maybe at Cloncurry or further on, will see tomorrow. We make our decisions about where exactly to stay once we get there...... make sense?
So far our reckless travel plans have worked out really well. No definite stopping times for most places and only make final decisions as we see the actual places. Mt Isa has very dirty air, so we wont be staying after tonight. It is hot and the van has to be closed to save my sinus headache from getting worse.

Beat you tonight Dotty one. xxx
Sorry for the negativity, need to sleep off some strong drugs, so nighty night all xxx

Starting get a bit chilly at night, still haven't had to put the air con on yet. Yep Mt Isa is rather a grubby place but some good things to see. Goodnight everyone x :) Goodnight Mr Grizz have you gone into hibernation?

Ray, sounds ominous... 2 days until ???

Dot, you chilly down there??? It is 20 degrees here right now, caravan door is still only on the screen with the full door latched open. I guess the cold air of home will hit us sooner or later! :D ;)

Well we went as far as McKinlay pub yesterday. Meant to be where some scenes of Croc Dundee were filmed. Yeah right, that was in a shed out the back, not really in the pub and it has just been left to crumble away. So a good story ruined by the truth. Then we were disturbed by drunks at midnight generally being idiots and singing , crying and shouting all the way round the caravans. The publican should be ashamed of himself for continuing to serve the drunks. Oh well, we wanted the outback experience and it has certainly been that.
We are at Hughenden tonight and on the way to Longreach tomorrow. As we have done the stockman hall and Qantas, will probably have a rest day instead.
Tired from all the driving, so good night all xxx

Deborah, Ray has his hip op on Monday and he also is on the countdown. We had an episode like you mentioned with the drunks etc when we were up that way some yrs ago but when I took my gentle giant Doberman out and started to walk towards them the words changed from XXXXX into "Devil dog" and they all split like a banana  That trick paved our way in quite a few places  Got to thinking I was that fella that made some sea split  No air con on tonight but I have put the flannelette sheets on the bed. Enjoy the warm weather. safe travels and Goodnight everyone x :) goodnight Col x

Ray, best of luck tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Oops, did I say Hughenden last night?   It was really Winton, don't know where that came from. Yes Dot, I wish that we had a dog at some of the less salubrious places that we have stayed in. I don't really know that a Doberman would quite fit into this little space with both of us. Could get interesting.

Longreach is today's genuine place. We went off to Qantas today for lunch. They are really one of the best value touristy places that we have visited. Today was no different, we had roast chicken lunches for $15 each and his nibs had to finish mine as it was huge, but delicious. They seem to do better quality souvenirs at good prices too. Last time we were here I bought quite a few trinkets for the kids etc, but we already did that at Uluru this trip. I went all out and bought a sticker for the van!

sleep well you lot, good night xxx
