Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Terry, the secret airbase seems to be a bit of a con. We couldn't join the tour because it was on at the same time as the bilby tour. Cute v dirty tag along tours...cute wins every time here! So we did the naughty thing and made up our own tour on the "sacred conservation" dirt roads. We easily found the ammunitions bunker and could see where many Nissan huts would have been. So we made up our own tour story. I know that there is possibly a bit more to be learnt from their tour, but as the three things in town that I wanted to see were all on at 3pm, we had to make up our own tour. We went to the original bank and managers residence, now a museum and saw original marble fireplaces and cedar doors and skirting etc, so the pub was replaced in a way by a museum at 11 am. Turns out the new owners of the pub are doing a sort of shorter tour with afternoon tea etc. Maybe next time.
This is our last night in Qld for a couple of months. So we are at Cunamulla, lovely riverside camping with a campfire and singer. Our first entertainment for the trip. Everywhere that we chose to stay because they did either fancy meals or campfire entertainment , well it didn't happen when we were there. The cook just up and left us, the music man is away this week, I am only filling in for the manager, only been here 2 weeks... and so the excuses run on and on. We were starting to think that we were causing their runs of bad luck, now that we are heading home, they will all be in better form.

Having a warm read-in tonight, so sleep well and goodnight xxx
Deborah

Another fun filled touring day. All the way to NSW. We came to Bourke and stopped, but what a surprise. The park owners put on a campfire and dinner for $15 a head. They cooked campoven stews, (curried snags, a beef n tomato thing and chooken in creamy stuff) with a slab of damper. It was yummo and leftovers were all free soo hubby had a huge meal tonight. I even went back for a taste of the others too. You could only have one thing for first helpings, but they were all scrummy. Even though you don't do caravan parks, I reckon this one would even suit you Dot. :o Keep up on the relaxing thing there Dot. ;) ;)

We are going to travel a bit more southerly tomorrow, before you know it, we will be home for a few weeks.
Off to warm the toes n read abit,
so it's goodnight from me xxx

Oh and Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely Mums out there xxx

Don't talk to much to the tongue man Dot. Good luck with that.
We drove down a very straight road today to get to Nyngan. We are right beside a very fast moving river and it's lovely. Lots of space here, so we are staying for 2 nights. They are promising that it will get down to 2 degrees tonight, but so far it feels pretty ok. I wont give it the chance to freeze off my feet. I am going to the warm bed to read now, so goodnight all xxx

There is not a lot to do in Nyngan, and it's so lovely doing nothing. Had a good day doing it too.
Dot, good news about the tongue, you can talk again now. If you are heading up north again, we will be working at the gemfest in Anakie again...second weekend in August. Never know, we might actually get together. AND Sarah Storer is going to be performing at Gemfest, now that is an incentive for us to head on up. Oh yeah, the money really helps us too. :D :!:

Fingers are crossed for the IT story to have a good ending.
Off to the leccie blanket to thaw out, so nighty night all xxx

And did you have to feed his New Best Mates? Or did they just get drunk together? 😃😃😃
