T1 connected the 5'er to Lithium [Yea!] I am now on solar and Lithium. Only need the sun today and to tidy up the mess inside and I might be on the road [Tomorrow] .

Ummmm....... after discovering the last spark-a-trickian's idea of how wire a fuse box, it maybe another day or so. It must be wired to the relevant standard before my sparkie will sign off on the wiring and this mess isn't even close. At least this one doesn't have 12v wiring inside the 240vac fuse box. There was not enough room for the proper double pole RCD's so half of them are single pole with loop wired from the mains inlet side of the original RCD, so throwing the main switch only turns off half the circuits this also means those circuits have no RCD protection or the 16 amp max load protection the original RCD provides for the inlet and extension cord
This needs to be sorted before it can have the 3 way switch and inverter wired into the system so the departure date might be set back a tad, better that than electrocuted by dodgy wiring though

It's a bit sad isn't it that in certain states in Oz a motorhome/ caravan can be wired up by anyone who thinks they know what to do, and unfortunately a lot don't. But if you tried to wire up a house using the same process you would be prosecuted. I think there is something missing in the logic of the transportable premises standard. As an aside to all this, there are changes being made to AS 3000 this month. I don't know yet when AS 3001 is getting updated.

is this illegal??
how does one trigger a 12/240 relay??
The relay must be in a separate box within the 240vac part of the fuse box and a separating divider wall within that box to separate the 12vdc from the 240vac section so there can be absolutely no error in identifying one section is extra low voltage dc (12vdc) and the other section is low voltage ac (240vac). Both harnesses throughout the install must be separated by a physical barrier like a divider wall or one/both in separate conduit to prevent the possibility of a wiring burn out linking the active conductors of the 240vac to the 12vdc conductors. Nothing like trying to disconnect the battery to stop a burn out getting worse and discovering the 12v positive is also the 240vac active and the negative is now the 240vac neutral.
Yes, it does and has happened very recently in a caravan here at the workshop, some unthinking individual had run a separate twin core cable direct from the battery up from under the bed to the main 12vdc distribution board under the fridge and managed to both wrap the cable around the 240vac cables but also cable tied the whole wiring harness together as it passed through the front wall of the caravan to the main electrical board in the front boot. Fortunately the person who ran for the 240vac power point to pull the plug was faster than the person who went to disconnect the battery or it would have ended in a death for sure. All the conductors both 240vac and 12vdc were twisted together as the fire burnt the insulation off all the cables making a continuous short that kept reigniting the fire.
