Trying to order some pink n purple dichroic glass that's not way over the top in price, is becoming my latest nightmare. I just spent a couple of hours trolling around to find some, but the orders for pinks are not really going to happen. Rare as, at the moment.

Spent today trying to cut an 18inch circle of glass to fit into a fluro light fitting. It has white glass in that is so dense that not much light gets through. So I found a lovely streaky, cloudy pattern with clear and grey blue glass. I thought it looked good, but not to be that easy. I cut a lovely circle and the glass just shattered. Way too many stress fractures. So I tried another tactic and cut four lovely quarter circles and wrapped the edges in copper foil. Tomorrow I will solder all the foil together and it should be a proper circle to put in the fitting. I do understand that glass can be very unstable, but my day seemed to revolve around just one light fitting and hopefully the solution will be the end of the problem.
Fang farrier tomorrow, cracked the crown again. Did it in Alice Springs, but wont admit to that!

Wow, thanks for that suggestion Jon. You have no idea how expensive glass is when brought in from USA. I have never used alibaba before, so tried to make a small purchase to see how it arrives. But I suspect that for the $100 that I just spent, I would usually pay at least 5 times that amount. Obviously the quality will be a big factor as well, but I can only lose the $100, so well worth the try. Thanks for doing that research. Do you buy off that site or just like to browse???

Hope you all had a wonderful evening and the celebrations were fun. Dot I know you don't drink n drive, so did you stuff your face instead? Sugar overload maybe?

Heavy duty painkillers worked well last night, but could have slept all day. Anyway, I did a lot of packing and sorting the business stuff. Tomorrow we have to be in Hornsby RSL by 9 AM for a market day, so had to have it all packed n ready in the car before bedtime. I will probably get a bit of extra snooze time in the car with HWMBO doing the driving. He is a fantastic roady! I get to deal with the customers though, he draws a line on that. Heavy lifting, driving helping to set up and that is his job done.

Off to get some of that needed shut eye, so good night all n sundry xxx
