Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Not to many footpaths in your area Deborah, like us the forgotten north, still waiting for even decent drainage let alone kerb, guttering & footpaths, the rates increase yearly too

Our council love doing paving even when they show they are more dangerous with trips and tree roots lifting them all the time. Anyway time to hit the sack for an extra early start tomorrow. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You are so right Shirley, we don't have much drainage, curb n guttering or many actual formed footpaths.
And Peter, you are right too, the posties are allowed to ride their speed restricted bikes on the footpath, this was just a vindictive copper. Not the friendly sort that we see around here most of the time.
Dot, hope the next lot of drugs is better for you. You are doing this the hard way,
hope it passes fast xxx
Spent the day clearing out the kitchen, so the benchtop man can cut a bit off the granite so that the gas cooktop will fit. So that's tomorrow. Soon the whole job will be done, seems like it's taking forever.
goodnight from me xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot you had no success today and that's what I had too...different planets, but still crap for both of us Thinking of ya mate. xxx
After getting up at the crack dawn, showering and having breakfast early to await the benchtop man. Phone rings, " he isn't coming, He called in sick" . So with the kitchen contents all over the house and no cooking to happen until Tuesday when the new one is installed. I panicked. After a stressed out morning of phone calls and begging people who may be able to cut the granite before Tuesday, I finally have a man coming tomorrow at sparrows to do the job. I don't really know if it's worth going to bed at all, but I will give sleep a chance.
so it's goodnight from me xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Had a long day Dot? xxx
The lovely man came and cut the granite, but the equipment that he had brought didn't finish the job, so after an hour, he went back to work at the stone showroom. He returned this afternoon and finished the job. After at least 2 1/2 hours of work, he asked for $100 because that's what he quoted. He gave up his own time and took 2 visits to get it right, so I gave him $150 and still felt mean. One of the other companies quoted $300-400, so I reckon we got off very cheaply.
As there is a lot of stone dust through out the main parts of the house, tomorrow will be cleaning it all again. I did most today, but I can still smell the dust, so it's gotta go. Of course that will be after a big sleep in. I need my ugly sleep now.
sleep tight you lot night night xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good to see you are looking a bit better Dot. Good luck tomorrow mate xxx
After yesterday's granite bench carving, the house dust all settled overnight to be a fine layer all over everything. So with my allergies and a thumping head, I knew it had to go. All day I have cleaned, until the house is sparkling. I hope the plumber doesn't make half as much mess on Tuesday. But then it will all be over and the kitchen will be able to get back to normal (whatever that is).
Tonight, I have booked to go to Bellingen in January. They do a week of arty farty stuff, with lessons in all sorts of things. From chainsaw carving to folk dancing. I enrolled in a course to do silver jewellery making from recycled silver. We will stay at the showgrounds and HMV will stay with the van. He is frightened of being turned into a hippy! Bellingen is very similar in culture to Nimbin, so hippy people are all welcome.
All this cleaning is exhausting, so I am off to bed now.
Goodnight all xxx
