No matter how well intentioned the legislation is, or how many safeguards the govt puts in place with data from COVIDsafe, a cock-up is sure to result in someone getting their hands on data they shouldn't see.
When it happens (not 'if') it is entirely possible... nay, probable that the recipient will be able to take financial advantage of the data.
A lot of clinical research suffers from this problem these days, a company will fund research into getting the answer they want and rather than that being challenged due to the costs involved with an independent trial and evaluation, these finding are accepted as fact unless proven otherwise.
