Victron make a cable that plugs into the VE direct socket on the MPPT controller that require a voltage anywhere between 5v and 70v (again from a dodgy memory) for the controller to turn on, no voltage supplied to the cable and the controller stops charging ..... if you simply interrupt the solar input, the controller sends up a fault inquiry asking why the solar now has zero volts across the terminals ..... smart a*se little buggers .... the other thing is the pin spacing and position of the lock out tabs on the plug and slot in the socket appear to be proprietary, so multiple VE direct cables can't be linked together from a single cable/board ...... Well, unless you cheat a bit
