Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

They’re the people with a knack for choosing the most inopportune moments to call. The telemarketer. Whether you find them mildly irritating or downright painful, being able to disengage from a phone conversation that you really don’t want to be having, is a skill. This is especially true as telemarketers seem to have the uncanny ability to keep you on the phone far, far longer than you’d actually like.

Fortunately, there is a way to disengage from a phone call with your friendly telemarketer. And the best bit is that it doesn’t require any shouting or arguments. All you need to do is say the following:

“Can you mail me out your privacy and opt-out policies, please?”

Why does this work? Saying this tells the telemarketer and larger telemarketing company that you are serious about not being contacted. Once you request an opt-out and privacy statement, the company is legally obliged to send them out to you. If they don’t, they are liable for further legal action. This also means that you have a hard copy of your request not to be contacted, along with a record of the date you were called and when you requested to be taken off their contact list.made this request but if the calls continue, you can take further action against the company.

It’s a simple and effective way of ensuring your dinner time remains uninterrupted by calls about your electricity bill for the foreseeable future!

I
The call centre is based overseas or from the telemarketers home computer, there is no actually company to take legal action against.
Maybe heavy breathing and "O my god, yes, yes" then a long silent period, then ask "are you offering something better than that?"

The first time I got a universal remote control, I thought to myself "This changes everything"

This one should get a laugh from Ray at least

For those who cannot tell the difference between entomolgy and etymology -

It really bugs me. I'm just lost for words.
