Re: Thought for Today
So, is ScoMo now a Despot or a Tyrant? They both want total control, seem to think they are a law unto themselves, but not all the description Google found for either title fully fits ...... Might be time to add a 21st Century name and definition and call it ScoMoism
Happy to rewrite the definition of the Westminster parliamentary by making himself the head of all departments without actually telling anyone, believes he is the hand of god and can't seem to understand the difference between the truth we all understand it to be .... and his version of truth .... but I guess he isn't alone in the crop of recently deposed world leaders ...... so he best grab the title before on of the others grab it so they can go down in the history books

Re: Thought for Today
What I find amazing is how come nobody, not even the governor general, said anything about it at the time.
What else didn't they tell us? That govt really must have had no regard for us, as voters, at all. Keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em bulls##t.

Re: Thought for Today
Yet to see if even the govenor general knew to what extent ScoMo had taken advantage of something that had been available to every prime minister. I believe the intention was for such powers to be used in an emergency, when the relevant minister was out of action, either dead or hospitalised or at the point they could not make judgement call that remained within the legal framework.supersparky wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 2:16 pm What I find amazing is how come nobody, not even the governor general, said anything about it at the time.

His claim that the buck stopped at him and he had the power to do as he pleased without consulting the govt caucus is not the Westminster system as far as I understand it.
I think there will be a lot more disclosed in the coming days/weeks and he may well find other ministered taking legal action against him ....... like the others that have tumbled from power lately, what they did in office will come back to bite them .....

Unfortuanetly, if any entity sues the government, they are suing us. We are the people who end up paying.think there will be a lot more disclosed in the coming days/weeks and he may well find other ministered taking legal action against him ....... like the others that have tumbled from power lately, what they did in office will come back to bite them .....

Re: Thought for Today
Can't actually sue the govt, they will invoke the "cloak of the crown" which insulates them from the justice system, but an individual can be sued ......jon_d wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 3:14 pmUnfortuanetly, if any entity sues the government, they are suing us. Just looks like some grubby politician to me, Dot. They have all been shi##ing on all of us for years. But probably from a different height.
