They conform to a variety of standard sizes so it is most likely you can replace them easily and fairly cheaply. You need to know the various specifications though. Can your mechanic who failed give you correct shockers give you specs or part numbers of the correct shockers that weren't delivered? Or was it his fault that the wrong ones were delivered?
Except for Japanese imports, the shockies they use are totally different to any others on the market, they use a much bigger shaft size than any others use the Kenworth trucks only use a 1/2" shaft where as the Japanese coaches use a 5/8" shaft (According to the rebuilding service I used in Brisbane). What a lot do is use truck shockies cut the top and bottom fittings, (shaft or rings) off both sets and weld the old fittings on the new shockies and you are in business. I have been reliably informed that if you immerse the shockies in a bucket of water while you weld them there will be no problems.
I managed to replace my rears (Pin/Pin) with a slightly heavier shafted model but was unable to get the fronts (pin and ring) and had to get them rebuilt.
I got my rear shocks from
Suspension Supplies Australia
219 Toombul Rd, Northgate QLD 4013
ph: (07) 3370 3200

They are the only mob I could find that would (or could) supply shockies to measure, Measure the compressed and extended lengths as well as the pin diameter, and approx diameter of the shockies.

I can't remember the name of the Mob that did the rebuilding but they were in Matherson st Virginia Qld almost opposite the post office
