Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good night Dot :D
Good morning Dot, you surely hit the nail on the head with age within the club, Jenny was absent recovering from 1st knee replacement then last week shoulder reconstruction, Carol was absent hip replacement last week, her husband had a plate inserted in his sternum last week owing to it not repairing after major open heart surgery earlier in the year, their daughter had come to look after them, Helen did arrive, she fell & broke her humerus in 3 places over 2 weeks ago, Dr couldn't operate & repair same owing to her having extremely low sodium, the decision was made better to leave the arm in sling after so long than operate & start the healing process again at 75years old, couple of others returned after having Covid, then to top the Christmas celebration off, it was booked to be catered for by the club restaurant downstairs, one of the chefs quit & a local firm had the restaurant booked for their Christmas party so the one remaining chef couldn't organise the catering for us, on short notice we had to cater for it ourselves, we do have a small kitchen downstairs near our locker room, so it wasn't the usual merry old time rather somber actually, Ginna whose husband passed that morning did come, she has no children, no siblings, no immediate family, believe she was better there sharing her grief with bowls family than sitting up at home alone.
Hopefully the bowlers are going to have a healthy, better all around new year.
PS
One more Barbara's husband had been hospitalised last week owing to many, many falls, he won't be coming home, he has very advanced dementia, she has no option he will be going into a nursing home, she was feeling sad not being able to continue caring for him.
PS
Age  Mary also returned after 5 weeks radiation after breast surgery.

Hi all,
good photos George. last week I spent time at Bundanoon with the 'Blue Wrens" for their xmas gathering. Some gathering seven have come down with Covid, I've spent all morning trying to get a script for my recovery. Finally found a DR who went out of her way to help me, she went around and opened her practice and supplied me with a Course of PLAXLOVID tabs [six a day four five days.] Hopefully this will fix me up I,m in the wrong age group.

Christmas Carols ecumenical service at church tonight… which put our evening timetable way behind.
Just about to head for bed after clearing up the dinner dishes… and reading a bit more of my book.
G’nite all. 😚
Regards & God bless,

Thanks Dot. Yes, I read the riot act to him, but he really began to believe it when two different doctors told him that he is stupid using ladders at his age. I have not had the courage to drive his huge new truck. I had driven the prado with the van and no problemo. We did a Tow ed course when we first started vanning, so I know I can do it, it's just getting used to the huge turning circle of the beast. I will be getting practice as soon as we have the yard to ourselves and the crowds get away from the town. I so often tell ladies that they should have a try to tow, in case of accidents etc, so now I will have to listen to my own advice. xxxx

Today we sorted out the caravan booking. The park had demanded the full site fees of $800 paid last week with no chance of a refund. When I rang, I spoke with the office manager , who I have gotten to know over the years. She spoke to the park owner and we have been given a credit for the whole amount. Annoyingly it's only valid for twelve months, but we will find ways to use it to slow down a couple of our longer trips. I think the fact that we have gone there for the last 15 years has helped and also that I was upfront with the office manager, every time that something else had gone wrong.

We did a "quick" shop at aldi today. I was hoping for some instant Christmas presents to jump out at me and all I really found was a stack of Christmas sox for the blokes. I have not bought the usual extra stuff that goes into their stockings, but they will have to happy with the folding stuff that I will put into their sox.

Peter, be more selective in the company you keep.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

If you noticed Tanks Peter never answered when I asked if he got lucky? looks like he did   Too hot for me out side so stayed in. Some people witt try anything, last week I put a for sale notice on local buy swap board, got a call that night from a guy saying he would pick the chairs up at 7,30pm, when he and his ?son got here with their gopher and trolly(towed) he went to walk off and G said hang on thats $15! the guy replied "Oh I thought they were free." G told him to look at the paper again so the guy says "Oh thats OK I will put the $ in your letter box tomorrow ". Haven't seen the $ yet so he will be getting a visit tomorrow night, know where he lives. Then yesterday a woman rang and she asked if she could come today to pick up a storage box, Yes I said, then a text saying her kid is crook but she could come and pick it up but no contact, once again I replied toot or ring when you get here , we will put the box at the back of your car and you can put the $ in a container we shall put near the box. OK So then another text I am on my way but I forgot my purse, WTF do people think? I replied Sorry if you still want the box call me tomorrow as I have been ripped off once this week. - No reply. :D . Anyway I think any other stuff would be better off in the fire rather than get ripped off. Happens far too often even if you know the people. I cooked a banana cake tonight. Off to physio tomorrow G's elbow still giving grief, so any lifting has been at a stand still. Take care and goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight NC George x :D

Dot we have found that if you put free on things, you get a lot of replies to say they are coming and then nobody turns up. If you put a small value on it, usually the people turn up with money. You did the right thing to say "don't bother coming if you are not prepared to pay". Some people expect everything to just be a general handout. Hope Gman has great improvement in his elbow. xxxx

Petels, time to get healthy again mate. Hope you feel great asap. xxx

Today was the day for delivering the trays of my home made biscuits. It usually only takes a couple of hours, but today it seemed to take all day. I don't usually give them to our doc, unless we have an appointment, but this year I really felt that we needed to say thankyou for all the times that he has rung to check on us and the appointments that he has found when there were none free. He was really touched, so it was worth the visit.

Our daughter put in an urgent request to find a snow globe of miss 8. It's on her santa list and none can be found. I found the tiniest snow globe that I have ever seen in a vinnies shop. That will have to do, until we find her a bigger one.

night all xxx
