T1 Terry wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 5:47 pm We made it as far as donation camp site at Toolangi Reserve. Lovely spot, toilets, free electric BBQ if you need, undercover tables and benches, rules about only having fires in the fire pits they have built .... very tall trees so solar was non existent. Spent two days there and would have stayed longer, but the 260Ah battery had supplied 235Ah by this morning, so we decided to travel a bit more.
Went to King Lake and invested in an oil company by filling the fuel tank, ended up chatting for a few hrs to a CFS volunteer who wandered over and asked us what we thought of our gypsy trailer .... I kept it cleanbut explained all the horrors we'd had and the last minute mods we did Friday afternoon before heading off to Taggerty. I doubt there was a topic he didn't cover, but by the time we got away the sun was already sneaking over the hill.
We ended up in Whittlesea show grounds for the night, plugged into power to recharge the battery, might stay another night yet, starting to get a feel for only travelling short distances and stopping for a few days![]()
Gotta set up the little gas stove outside on the wooden battery boxes I threw all the gear in before we left, might see if we can find a table tomorrow ..... Not allowed to cook the steaks inside, too much fat splatter and smoke apparently![]()

Oh Terry you should of left your Genny in the bus, we were too far away for you to plug into ours. No cooking inside WT? get a splatter top and the extractor fan gets rid of the smoke.Short distances are the way to go now.

Good morning.
Carol's a happy chappie she has her car back
Except for going to the medical center for blood test and then driving to Bundy and back nothing else was achieved for the day...I did sneak into Bunnings while in Bundy, I needed a cuppla 100mm pipe brackets...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning 15c, a little overcast blue sky & it’s been raining, 15-35mm predicted today & maximum 19c, the lake is calm & all the fishermen must be home in bed, none to be seen.
Finally the acrylic bricks in our house that were damaged in the hail storm in May last year are going to be replaced with glass bricks, so happy, we are going to have a glass brick sky light that is in the deck above my kitchen sink removed completely, concreted over & tiled, we have continually had problems with it leaking, will install a couple of led lights above it.
Tanks there are so few butchers’ shop about in our area these days I find it difficult to buy decent steak, occasionally I get lucky at Woolies or Coles, I’m not a fan of packaged meat, gone are the days when the sides of beef, lamb etc., were delivered to the butcher’s shop, haven’t purchased veal steak, skirt steak or lamb fillets for ages, use to often buy same often, also miss our now closed butchery’s corned products.

"tanks" here---
Shirley, Now that I am receiving Meals on Wheels (Monday to Friday) I no longer need to purchase steaks or meat of any kind. I still have a chest freezer with stacks of chicken breast and a few dead chooks, plus a few Rib Etye fillets that I may never get to cook. They are left over from the pre-M.o.W. days and waiting for visitors to call or visit.
I am mainly using wild-caught Australian fish for weekend meals, and I do enjoy smoked salmon with avocado on toast for breakfast. Stay in good health folks.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning from a dry and dusty Mulwala. Nah, just kidding, it's drizzled rain here since yesty morn. 13mm so far.
Tanks, its funny you mention MoW. The olds have been on it here, since the MiL got crook over summer. We took 'em out to Corowa for lunch and sort the parking permit thingo out. They are hooking into some as I type this. The only other thing in their fridge now is fruit and ice cream.
We might go down the footy and watch T's eldest grandson play. He goes alright.
Safe travels all those out and about.

Good morning.
It's a bugga when you have to remember what you done yesterday
Got one
I got the hedge cutter out and trimmed the trees along the back fence,,,esy peasy one would think...sides are the easy bit but then I have to get the small trellis out to do the tops...So job well done
... I have potted out that Peach tree that I germinated in the fridge...don't know if it will survive but the objective was to see if I could do it.
Big bonus, mummy's day and bacon and eggs day all together...kid's are coming out.
Keep safe.
Bernie.
