Morning all,
Lovely day here. Starting to warm up, so winter might be over.
George, how is the door going?
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone, it's a late start for me today. Felt a bit ordinary early on. The BoM thinks it will get to 30⁰ today.
Looks like the GC and Brissy copped a flogging in last night's storm. I'll call one of the neighbours later to check if all is well.
We are taking the MiL over to Corowa for lunch today, I'll check on my mate while we are there. He's doing his best to be invisible.
But first I'll go down to the local cenotaph and pay my respects.
I hope everybody is as well as can be expected. Anyone heard from Dot recently?
Safe travels all those out and about.

Re: Good morning daily
I know you all missed me .... but I believe your aim is improving
The Ford Cargo went like a dream, parts were good, other parts, a nightmare
Started out a bit patchy with it throwing in the towel a few hundred mtrs up the hill, was just the wire to the fuel pump I'd disconnected while sorting the hoses etc, it idles fine without the added electric pump, just don't expect it do any serious work without it running ......
The next one was as I entered the ring road from the highway heading towards Melbourne .... the clutch pedal faded to the floor and no amount of coaching was gunna get it back into operation ...... so, a 38km drive through Melbourne alternate routes, with every downhill having an even steeper uphill just out of sight ....naturally, with the mandatory traffic light on the uphill section just before the crest .... thrown in the idiot Sat night Melbourne drivers who think that gap you were rolling into at the red light, had their name on it.
Trying to take off uphill in first gear on the starter motor with a Lexus 450h on the back, isn't something they did a write up on in the owners manual ......
I did sneak through few amber lights that didn't have a lot of red in them as I crossed to line ..... but one on a hill with a hard righthand turn onto a major road did look to have a fair amount of red showing, and my fellow motorist seemed to think the same thing and serenaded me with various horn melodies .... till they saw the condition of the Lexus on the back .... and thought better of it
A few hrs Sunday morning and finally got fluid both in the M/cyl and slave cyl with the throw out brg against the pressure plate fingers ..... and the clutch operation returned to normal
The only other issue was the last fuel stop on the way home at Tintinara, they had run out of diesel at the high flow pumps, the bowser used for diesel car filling was a slow as a wet week, by the time the other bloke filled his 4 x 4 and I filled the 100 + litres in the truck tank, serious heat soak had set in and jammed up the air compressor inlet valve and the governor valve, so it would not build up air pressure to release park brake.
I could get about 3 bar if I revved it at around 2,500 rpm, but as soon as it returned to idle, it dropped back to nothing ..... so select 1st gear, rev the ring out of it till a bit of pressure showed on the gauge, slip the clutch till the truck was moving fast enough to maintain over 2,500rpm to partly release the park brake, and get it across the road.
A few cab tilts, crawl around under it, nothing obvious stood out, so the percussive maintenance was employed with a big ring spanner all around the compressor and governor valve, with the engine idling, and "bingo" it started to pump up pressure .... drop the cab, throw everything inside and head up the road ..... and it drove home to Mannum without another problem ......
Considering the last time it was driven any serious distance with a load on it was when we moved from Lake Illawarra to Mannum, and it had been a victim in the workshop fire and unregistered since 2017, it did a remarkable job only having a few issues.
The tyres surprised me the most, they had to be a min of 10 yr old, two of them were off Big Bus and we got that in 1998 after it had been sitting in the depot yard for 18 mths, and they were Bandag recaps, not a tyre failure for the whole trip .... a lot to be said for the old rag tyres compared to the newer radials ....
T1 Terry

Good morning.
The weather gods are kind this morning...tiz raining...
Started around 1am... only light
I was worried about you Terry
..
Where are the ladies of the night ???.
Nothing on the camera for yesterday...I reposition it last evening...
Carol's getting better walking without any aids most of yesterday...we have to see the specialist this coming Friday...plus the local hospital finally sent paperwork regarding physio...
Not much else happening, guess I'll just watch the grass grow today.
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Its 23⁰ already heading for a top of 29, so the man says. So, another top day ahead.
Went over to the mates place and took his bikes out the road for safe storage while he's away. His mate has an amazing collection of great stuff. More Furphy tank ends than I knew existed, and a bunch of tractors.
I'm going over to my sons place so I can have a play date with my youngest grandson today. I'll stay overnight. Should be fun.
Bernie, I've seen the night ladies on FBk recently. Dot's been a bit crook I think.
Safe travels all those out and about.

Re: Good morning daily
Todays task will be getting the Winnie engine running so I can run the citric acid through the cooling system to get the remainer of the rust scale out ..... then fill it with proper coolant and not have to worry about that job for another ..... Penrite say 10 yrs but ...... I'll give i a ph test every 12 mths and keep an eye on the water filter in the top hose to see if any more rubbish is moving around in the system, it worked brilliantly in the Hino and solved the overheating issues that plagued it all the time Brian and the previous owner had it.
