Terry, being a winnie, maybe be extra sure and use 4. Should be easy to apply. ;) Just don't slip off and hurt yourself.

 The white ones first and then the black ones over them? Is this from experience Jon? I think if I'd drunk that much to end up with one that required 4 layers for safety, I won't need to worry about it 'caused I'd be asleep before anything happened anyway

Ahhh.... wait a minute, you were talking about painting the Winne roof .... gottcha now .... no brick fence to fall on here Jon, just soft concrete all-round, so I should bounce .... as long as I don't go over head first, that would hurt my neck even worse than it is now ;)

Does that sealer stuff you used on the roof come in white Bernie? I'd like to reseal it before I put the solar up, it will be a very big job if I wait and need to do it later.

Interesting voltage curve.

You might need one of these to keep all things 12 volt working and the lights not dimming.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005642533885.html?

And then, if the inverter is powering a 3kw load,
@ 80% SOC, pack voltage: 13.2v battery current: 227A
@ 20% SOC, pack voltage: 10v battery current: 300A

That's a big variation in battery current and increased AH rate of consumption.

How many AH did you get?

Terry, with the EPDM rubber roof on the Winny, you need to use Dicor self levelling Sealant to reseal all the joints around hatches etc before you paint it with whatever product you have chosen to recoat it. Just make sure all the surfaces are clean first.
Hint, those rubber roofs can get real slippery when you use a pressure wash, so be a bit extra careful.

Not much information regarding just what that graph means. I'm guessing he found it somewhere and didn't really understand what he was looking at, but it does look flash eh

I plan to do my own testing to plot graph that actually have repeatable curves. The discharge is the strong part of these cells, the recharge rate is the weak part. They are reported to have an upper limit of 1C recharge, but with an 800Ah capacity @ 12v, I doubt that will ever be an issue, but in an EV where regen was part of the equation, LFP or LTO would be required in parallel to absorb the higher charge current to avoid the cell voltage in the Na+ cells being pushed beyond the 4v safe upper limit.

It will be interesting to compare the plot points he has on his graph, no idea what build construction that plot curve belongs to, there are so many different combinations in build design.
The build design range from the spray layer graphite used in LFP cells, to solid carbon to graphene and every mix you can think of in between. The variations in electrolyte are something to see, each build construction performs differently with any of the electrolyte formulas ..... the one known not to work is any that uses H20 as the carrier, that leads to very rapid cell capacity decline.

CATL are already on their 3rd commercial level production of Na+ cells, the really interesting one is the latest 4th generation hybrid combination that uses Na+ and LFP cells in parallel as I mentioned before, to give a better discharge/charge balance.
The first two generations of these cells are running around Chinese streets in EV's now and the 3rd generation is being used on the production lines now. The hybrid will come out in the domestic market hybrid EVs, designed to run primarily as an EV, the internal combustion engine or fuel cell will only be a range extender charger, it will not be involved in the vehicle drive at all.

I have just read a very interesting article about BYD EV's and their use of sodium ion batteries currently in use in China already. But I can't get the link to work. I'll try again later.

Maybe this time.

Battery technology certainly is developing pretty fast, remember my late mate saying graphene would be one of the next big things in batteries and it seems with NA batteries, that's the case.

Terry did you get your NA cells from lifepo4 Aus, they are selling them in single or 16 piece batches, but think they have a bit to go in their development to get over lifepo4. My first batch of lifepo4 are now 18 years old and the second, 17 years and they still have 100% capacity and performing great. Will be looking at getting more storage as the workshop runs on the Lister generator mostly and the 120ah portable lifepo4 pack. But the noise and vibration from the gennie leaves a lot to be desired and have got two 24v more wind generators, 1 x 400w and the other have rebuilt as it came off my boat and kids threw rocks on at it and smashed it up a bit when at the wharf. Now have 3 wind generators, 2 x 250w and 1 x 400w. It's amazing how such small wind gennies can keep the lights etc on simple because they can run 24/7 down here and they are all self feathering which so fare has kept them from flying apart, unlike the weather station wind speed indicator.Boat got sold a few years ago, owning a 52ft wooden motor sailer is a bottomless hole to throw your money into and been looking for a steel yacht around 50-75ft, but they are expensive and want one to do up.

Look forward to hearing how you go with the NA cells Terry and how they perform.

Native Pepper, be interested in upir 35v wind turbine experiment
Was looking at buying one and putting the
DC power after the turbine regulator into a 12v solar regulator
Have two 100 /50 victrons sitting in my solar cabinet waiting for solar to come .😂 I did try a a 12v but did not generate voltage high enough for lithium charging
Still spinning but doing nothing
I like the vertical ones as less noise and vibration
I already have the pole etc so bolt her on and see how it goes
My biggest problem is the money at the moment, just spent 3 grand on madam Ruby for a operation
12 × 5 house boat moored at the present in Mannum Waters Marina.
Converting to LiFePo4 for float alone status
