Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Not often you see an election called with only 33% of the vote counted. The Liberal party has a lot of rebuilding to do now it has lost its leader and future leader, both losing their seats. Yet to see what such a big win will lead to .... but in the end, Australia will be the winner no matter what happens overseas ....

Further counting has seen the Greens lose their leader to a Labor challenger.
Maybe people were pi$$ed off at the Greens losing sight of their raison d’etre: climate change.
Sticking their bib into the Israeli-Gaza war was clearly not appreciated.

Unfortunately Australia has gone down the gurgler.
It is now a one party dictatorship. (in effect)
I don't see it ever changing again.
It's time to now abandon the Liberal & national parties all together & just run as China & Russia do.
When or if things get bad enough we can all migrate to Afghanistan or Tasmania!
At my age & stage I could care less & although I do feel some responsibility to leave a better country behind for those to follow, it's those that choose to have what we now have.

Not so sure Bruce. When the libs sort themselves out with some better candidates and solid policies then they'll be back in the race.
We've got an election coming soon in Vic. Labor needs to move on but who can we vote for? The libs are still in disarray.... bring back Kennet.

Bottom line is; you can't vote for incompetence regardless of who the party is.

Unless you are in America   The Liberal Party would be a non starter without the Nationals and the same the other way around. The fact that 2 parties combined can't get enough votes not to cop an absolute grubbing, says they are out of touch with what the voting public want.
If they can't find the path and policies that the voting public want, they might as well shut up shop and allow more independents a chance to form loose alliances that support a direction they feel their voter base wants to go, no "voting along party lines" but voting for what their support base wants .......

I understand that a full independent member govt would be like "rule by committee", but as an affective opposition, I think it's time we tried that method, the other way hasn't worked for quite some time ......

The "two party" system was over when one side needed to be made up of multiple parties, each fighting to get their way with no real path to guide Australia in a direction that wasn't based on supporter $$ ..... Labor gave it a try with the Greens, and it didn't work out well for either party.
The Liberal and National coalition isn't working well for either party, they need to find a better match up if either party is going to become a political force again

Interesting watching him constantly correcting the steering, just to stay in a straight line .... is that a multiple trailer problem, or just a prime mover with poor steering adjustment and in need of an alignment?

As for his comments, as usual, completely mis informed resulting in sprouting nonsense ....... Why are politicians paid so much? So we don't end up with a self-funding agenda rather than a best for all concerned voting style ..... sure, they are politicians, so self-interest is going to be high on their priorities, who else would put themselves through that sort of crap to get a job that pays less than the private sector ..... same or worse workload but less crap to deal with in the private sector ...... a politician has to work much hard just to get the job putting everything into it only to end up unemployed in the end?
Would you want a burger flipper, a truck driver or train driver, rubbish collector, to be running the country? Bob Hawke was probably the last to appear to be one of the boys, even though he was a very educated man, he knew how to be down to earth from his union leader days .....

I can't remember the rest of the nonsense and I doubt I want to put myself through listening to it again, to be honest, that is very much like the nonsense I hear about electric vehicles from those who only know what they have heard, not what they have experienced .......

End of rant

GREAT!
Now let’s get PARENTS to teach their children English Literature, Grammar and Spelling, Biology (including reproductive biology!) and Mathematics, especially Quadratic Calculus.

As the husband of a primary school teacher, it has always amazed me that parents want so many things taught in schools.
I would have thought that it was one of those things that was discussed around the dinner table.
Do parents of today actually talk to their children? Perhaps not.
Cheers
