Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Speaking of that place have you seen the big new building going up at Mt Barker? And are you keeping an eye on the BOB Brian? Should start a bamboo farm great for building materials.

I hope this link works. There is a truckie in Ipswich tonight in the biggest world of pain that you could possibly imagine. While transporting an Oversize load to a windfarm today, he missed a turnoff that the escort used and decided to keep going on his way. It is now stuck under a bridge under the highway. Engineers say it is actually holding the bridge up, according to news services up here. https://www.facebook.com/groups/5005394 ... tid=Nif5oz

Dot, the escort didn't do anything wrong. But the driver of the heavy transport vehicle did. It's gunna cost someone a lot of time and money to fix the bridge.

Most times the escort get's so far in front the truck driver loses sight of them.
Trouble with Facebook & keyboard warriers again. No facts?

Not correct Bruce. Plenty of available fact.
It is well documented on the Qld Police site and has been on the local news. The ecort turned off the off ramp to close it down for the highway crossover, but the truck kept going along the highway.
The company that was organising the job now has a massive recovery and restitution bill. The driver was still in hospital, according to this mornings news.
I haven't heard if that section of the highway has reopened yet.

But surely, he knew the height of the blade and everything and then the bridge height sign.... ?was/is there a bridge height sign?

Looking at this footage,

It looks like the truck was carrying a tower section and not a blade.

It wasn't a blade, it was the tower part. The latest report from police investigating said the escorts had gone ahead to close off the other highway crossing over. The driver went straight on. He has been released from hospital.
Apparently there is a bit of traffic chaos up that way now. The mayor of Ipswich is suggesting that the overpass may be closed for quite some time, while repairs are being done.

He's probably just trying to wind everyone up.

Nah, he's (the mayor) a she and she now lives on the wrong side of the overpass. It's going to make for some interesting trip planning for a lot of people for a while.
