Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I think it will be harder getting the new one in.. still to be acquired...
Can you remove the black end cap from the solenoid, it will probably require removing the lock nuts on the terminal bolts and pushing them through the black plastic cap to get the actual motor wire off the bolt.

When you get it off, you will see the two contact pads I was talking about before, a search on the interweb should find these for you, much cheaper than a replacement starter motor ..... and this one knows the way back into where it was, that will make the job easier as well ;)

Try tapping the bolts through the plastic case, I doubt you will have to remove the whole solenoid from the starter .... but maybe ..... On the end of the solenoid plunger is a copper disc, when the plunger fully engages, the disc makes contact with the two copper lugs attached to the end of the bolts ..... these gradually burn away till the disc no longer makes a good contact, the start engagement becomes more hit and miss till it rarely makes a hit, arcing the last of the contact away.
I've seen in some very cheap starters, the head of the bolts are actually the contacts, half of them burn away and by tapping them through, rotating 180*, the other half of the bolt becomes the contact point and the starter works again ......

Good mornoon, wind and showers, did 4 loads of washing, pulled more grass out, moved some roof tiles from out the front and buggered myself out again. Rang a so called charity place and asked if they wanted a clean lounge suit, 2 recliners on the couch and 2 x 1 seaters both recliners. Q/ Colour, did we have a cat, is it clean? send me photos, She said recliners are not popular any more. WTF they are getting a clean suite and want good stuff to sell. Nah will put a sign up at the supermarket and give it to anyone finding things tough.

Bernie,

Just replace it.

I'm betting that if it's that difficult to remove/install, you don't want to have to do it twice.

Bernie when I pulled up out the front of the school I rang Nathan & he told me you have to come in & sign me out, my thought you’re joking year 11 & 17 years old :? anyway in I go & auxiliary staff member asks name, I gave my name, no students name, then asked my name to check that I was on the list to collect him from school, given form to fill out & sign, I get to reason for leaving & ask Nathan, finished exams, staff member hears reply & tells us, your in Year 11 you can come & go as you like no need for the form, she takes it from me & we leave   today only chemistry exam I picked him up at 10.30, he walked straight out 1 minute after I stopped

Do you think as a grandfather that you could have picked up the wrong kid from pre school :? Even if it was a baby :?
