We did the long drive home today. Took us all of twenty minutes. After unpacking the van, the humidity got to us both so much that we had very long naps, with the air con blasting away. After such a long weekend with so many events happening all the time, we didn't realise how tiring it had been.

We have started a very long list of things that we need to get organised before we leave home on Sunday or Monday. The day will depend on how organised we can get . Once the whole lot is packed and sorted, we will be leaving.

I tried to open the site last night, but the message was that the page wouldn't open. I do hope that the jinx is all gone now.

Yes I got that as well. I'm pretty sure it was the data centre down as several other websites from it were also not working. It was pretty late so I thought I'd wait & see ....

Made a waterproof cover today for a small trailer that is towed behind a pushbike. I think he is going on a camping trip with it. Needed a new aircon. condenser for my old Peugeot. Not any in Aust. but I found heaps of them all over the world at different prices. Got one coming from Estonia that was about average on price but only a fraction of the freight price. Goodnight All

The freight cost out of some countries, the US in particular, are insane, yet sometimes companies can shock you and come up with great freight deals, even from the other side of the globe ..... it just doesn't follow any sort of logical pattern .... except maybe the mind set that you will pay if you really want it

Ncl George, the main roads mob are a PITA and obviously they are trying to intimidate you. Perhaps have a friend or driving instructor, take you for a few drives in the bus, to get the feeling of an observer out of your system to help your nerves to stay calm on the day.

Today was another stinker. Yep, it's still summer. The kiln contents looked good but I decided to try another tactic with the bowl. It needed more interesting bits added to the design. When I sent it through the heat first time with the glass dripping through a stainless steel colander, it was in my smaller kiln, because it is taller than the big one. The small kiln doesn't work when the nights are so hot, so I rigged up the hanging colander system in the big kiln. It will be interesting to see how much glass is left in the colander this time, because the big kiln has the elements in the lid and not along the sides like the small kiln. Tomorrow will tell.

I have been collecting things to go to the van in a box. When we came home yesterday, our footpath was parked out, so we had to park across the road. Being a one way street, that leaves the caravan door opening onto the street. Late this afternoon, the street front was finally empty, so we now have the van on our side of the road. Tomorrow I will start putting the collection of things into the van and finding safe places to put things. Also have chiropractor in the afternoon, so it will be another busy day.

Today was a chiropractor visit, feel much straighter now.

Took a while to get most of the box full of stuff into the van and homes found for everything. As usual, it's still summer, hot n humid. Had a rain shower tonight but not enough to get the garden wet.

The kiln was a surprise. I goofed a bit. The plate looks stunning, but I hung the basket above the plate too close to it. So the plate is still attached to the basket and it's only about a 1/2 inch taller than the plate. I can't get in and chop off the glass legs that are joining plate and basket. Tonight the plate is suspended about an inch off the kiln floor with the basket hanging from a taller post. I am hoping that the plate will drop off and most of the joins will sever. Other wise, I will be trying to get the rest of the joining spikes off somehow. It's an interesting experiment.

Another day of doing not much apart from ringing for information. Finally got through to the Specialist Dentist I first saw. Seeing I am not at all happy with the person in Mt Barker my neck man has contacted him and has written a referral to him as this dentist only works in his practice one day pr week and the rest he works in the Special needs unit in Adelaide Dental place. Seeing him privately. The cleaning lady comes again tomorrow and I have cleaned the loos again but this time I have not even swept the floors. She gets paid enough so she can do it. I will disappear out to the bus with Rosy and Brian while she is here. Rosy attacks the vacuum and we cant have that. Awaiting for the impending rain NIGEL! Deborah hope your packing the van has gone to plan for your long adventure and would to see the new works of art you have been experimenting with. Are the roads you plan to travel all open. Rubbish collection tomorrow Like Tanks I seem to be getting excited as nothing much is happening around here. NC George you will romp the test in so do not worry. Good morning Dot, playing bowls again today, Lesley still has sciatica can’t play so looks like I’m a permanent replacement in the team, would of been good to get a sleep might manage a couple of hours.
New dentist sounds ok, hope you are more satisfied with him.
