Countdown :: Dapope Hits The Road 13th July 2013

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

As bad as it looks, loosing a spring shackle bolt isn't all that bad as far as creating a dangerous driving situation. It's much like when the spring centre bolt shears and the axle is no longer anchored in one place on the spring, things just feel a bit strange and the back doesn't neatly follow the front, more off to one side a bit, it does make round abouts some what interesting though  Get the mechanic to check the tollerance between the shackle pin and the housing when he comes to replace them, that is the most common cause for the bolt to shear, it gets twisted and high tensile bolts shear rather than bend
A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows

Thanks for that Terry, he's been and gone and done. The broken one appeared to have been overtightened. I have new ones with nylocs and washers, and an old one as a spare. Looks like a Friday departure, so only 7 days to go now.

Just for you Dot. doesn't really do the colour justice. Gold colour and a headboard we never had before. Nothing like a bit of foam, nice for leaning on while having that early morning cuppa
