Or is it that they know we are not listening 2/3 of the time?

Re: "tanks" 3.5 kva generator
"tanks" here---
The Control Panel arrived today (Monday) at 09:30 am. Great service from a good supplier.
The damaged panel was replaced with the new one, and the generator tested by 10.03 am and no smoke or pretty sparks, so I think I have connected everything in the correct places.
I phoned Jeff in WA (I was so excited with my accomplishment that I forgot about the 2 hour time difference to WA) and I told him of my new skill and my ability to undo 4 screws and pull a few plugs apart. He was not overly impressed as he was driving in peak hour traffic. " Bloody Bush Mechanic was the remark" !!!
I also told him that I had installed the 40 amp charger to replace the 20 amp unit----"Don't think you will get employment as an Auto Electrician was the remark" !!!
He suggests that I now keep the spare 20 amp charger, and give it to him when I get back to WA, so now I will cart it all around the rest of Australia, then give it to him for a birthday present, with a new pair of jocks and socks and a happy birthday card.
I phoned Jeff back during his lunch hour and asked him to send me $500.00 towards diesel, and he told me to get a haircut and wait for the next pension day as even with a haircut he does'nt think that I will get a job
Young people (Jeff is 55 years old) just don't have any faith in the older generation now days.
In the event that Forum Members wish to heap praise on me for my new found ability, please feel free to add to this post.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Top stuff Keith!! I like a plan when it works out!!
When you compared the new one to the old one could you see the little dead fellows on it?
Be interesting to know if it's the same dead part that plagued Norman as well?
So I'm guessing all the party lights are back on tonight?
Oh, by the way I found a vacancy for auto-electricians in Syria........... Something about twisting cordite & biting on detonators or something but I bet you'd know what they were talking about?

Tanks, you should write a book. It'll pay better and you won't get your hands dirty plus keep your nails clean.Keith Morris wrote:...I told him of my new skill and my ability to undo 4 screws and pull a few plugs apart.

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.
