Tanks, on the subject of stamp duty...

When I sold my 100 series Land Cruiser, in 2008, to an SAS fella from WA who flew over to collect it. Whilst at the RTA to change over the rego, they suggested he pay the NSW stamp duty as it was considerably less than the WA variety.

I forget the percentage rates but WA is far more excessive than NSW - & you only have to pay it once - so why not do it in NSW & save a few $$$.

Just sayin..... :D

"tanks" here- Chuck,
No matter what WA now charge you the Stamp Duty and make you go over the inspection/pits again when you change the license to WA plates. You don't expect our Colin to miss out on a few thousand bucks. You even pay it if a relative "gives" you a vehicle for nothing, so-to-speak, The beasts then appraise it at market value and charge the S/duty.
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

I think what Chuck is saying is, stamp duty is only payable when you transfer the rego to your name, so if you transfer it in NSW they can't charge you a second time in WA so it would be cheaper to transfer the rego to your name while you are here.

I asked the physio if he was ready to buy a motorhome yet but he is now going to wait till the end of next yr, sorry, that was my only lead for a buyer for your Sprinter so I hope they offer you a good trade in price

They offered him very close to bugger all but I will leave it to Keith to publicise their offer.
