This has opened a can of worms involving new amendments http://www.esv.vic.gov.au/Portals/0/Gas ... n_2014.pdf and retrospect of those of those amendments.

Re: Melbourne
I wish I could use my jayco club mates, but I don't think that is going to help.
I will be meeting Mr Ryan himself, but not until late October. I think Peter needs help sooner than that. I do like the facebook idea, but try sending personal emails to Jerry Ryan as well and keep sending them. Eventually he will answer you and because it is by email you have a full record of what has been said. Doesn't matter if his staff are reading them, you can be sure the man himself may actually read some too! Much more useful in a court of law than phone chats...I do hope you don't have to get to that, but it is far better to be well prepared.
Lots of good vibes and luck being sent to you Peter. xxx

Re: Melbourne
I have had time now to go over all the info that I have been able to collect.
When the van was bought it was sold as a shared locker, the walls/floor where lined and with 25mm vent holes on the at each corner which as a stand alone gas locker is fine, however no one would buy a van with no external storage so hence a shared locker.
In Sept 13 amendments to AS/NZS5601.2:2013 Gas installations where published with effect in Vic 31 Mar 14 and Qld 1 Jul 14 the changes that may effect me are;
Clause 3.4.1(f) (not acted upon) see diagram http://www.esv.vic.gov.au/Portals/0/Gas ... n_2014.pdf
Clauses 3.4.1(h),3.4.3(j) Cylinder compartments and LP Gas lockers
Comment ; Cylinder compartment design and desire for more storage leading to ignition sources and other equipment being stored with cylinders
Comment change ; New sign for caravans and boats to be displayed in or on the cylinder compartment warning that only cylinders and their associated equipment are to be permitted within the compartment. ( not acted upon) see picture http://www.esv.vic.gov.au/Portals/0/Gas ... n_2014.pdf
Clause 3.4.2 Vertical divider introduced to separate a cylinder compartment to a general storage area in a combined storage compartment locker for caravans.
Clause 6.3 All appliances burners must now be fitted with a flame safeguard. ( not acted upon)
When I first spoke to Dot and a couple of others back at 40 mile about the recall for gas proofing, Dot quite correctly pointed out that gas is heavier than air and sinks rather than rises.
Since then a faulty thread on an exchange bottle has leaked and the frozen gas ran down the bottle and onto the floor, nothing entered the inside of the van.
Bearing in mind that recall was about prohibiting gas from rising into the living area, the inadequacy of the gas proofing leads me to believe that the recall may have been about something else.
The van was built in May 13 and at present I am waiting on Qld gov( Qld reg ) for a decision on whether the the new legislation is retrospect and how it effects me.
