Doesn't that make the self contained mantra a bit of a joke, if you do not have sufficient capacity for a couple of days anywhere, why is the CMCA providing a way around this for it's own camps ? Scared of missing out on a few dollars perhaps ?

Maybe it's so people can actually empty their grey water into them to take it to the dump point

So why bother applying for the LNT certificate? If they say only LNT vehicles in their grounds, then that should be how it is, no flip flopping. just sayin!!!pet-els wrote:I've been told that there is some sort of mobile container [on wheels] that can be attached to your grey water outlet [fittings available at Bunnings]. The caretaker has some of these.

You have missed the point Dot its so you don't have to move your rig if you have a grey water tank to empty it .
You have to have a grey water tank to get in . Them's the rules . All part of the new leave no trace stuff .

I think Bernie has just about nailed here, meet the requirements and you are in the door, break the rules and ...... yet to be seen what the big stick will be. I can't see 80 sites resulting in all the free camps closing some how, but what I can see happening is if the CMCA make a success of this, local govt will approach the CMCA to set up a campsite in their area. Gotta be a better option than the closed campsites we are seeing all over the place at the moment. Certainly a way to keep the local grubs and whizz bang brigade out of the campsites and knock the well to do grubs into line as well. I see it as an answer to the caravan park association push to closing all non caravan park sites, the day of the free stop over in town is coming to a closeBernieQ wrote:You have missed the point Dot its so you don't have to move your rig if you have a grey water tank to empty it .

Going by the latest CMCA news letter from Gary Lee, they are talking to 50 councils at present.

I shall try again, seeing that anyone ie caravans/MH's without grey water holding tanks who are cmca members are not self contained. By putting a bucket underneath the outlet or even a special container on wheels is NOT a self contained vehicle according to their LNT requirements. If they allow this on their grounds then they are confusing people. Might just call it quits now.

Re: ? Good news for Bundaberg
Bucket is now not allowed Dot . The container is a sealed fit for the transfer of the grey water , plus there must be a shut off valve on the vehicle so no grey water touches the ground . Thems the new rules .

Re: ? Good news for Bundaberg
Basically the Tote-a Tank is just for emptying the grey or black tank into the container on wheels, drag it across to the dump point and empty it, repeat is necessary. The Tote-a-Tank does not take the place of the grey water tank or the black tank or cassette, you still must have them fitted, this is just a method to avoid having to pack up camp to move to the dump point to empty the tanks.Dot wrote:I shall try again, seeing that anyone ie caravans/MH's without grey water holding tanks who are cmca members are not self contained.
