I would do that if they were hard to get but for about $20 you can buy a replacement

Hi Sunnykid, Its along story, I went to the plumbers and picked up a lenth of anode and made my own .$5. But had to cut it in 2 (enough for 1 more) as its for a big HWS. Then I had to grind the end so a little wire stuck out so I could weld it back in side the old nut. BUT after gringing all that mag. off . I sharpened a drill some time later only to set fire to the dust from the anode, BIG white flame ect....Plus a small fire in the battery drill charger as I tried to put the thing out..
Big smile now.....Its the scotch blood in me that makes me do things like that and I saved $35.......

Hi Wilbor, I never buy what I can make even If it takes a week, Its just how its has been for me. Never throw away some thing that may be handy some time down the track , You know how it is.... , And you learn so much. Would have been much easier to buy a ready made one but half the fun...
