I have two thoughts - questions or comments on the forum, should and would, be subject to moderation. The poo slinging starts pretty quickly in that place, implied or overt. Because the comments may be specific to election material from any candidate, moderation or censoring of the forum comments could lead to larger issues.justgarbage wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2017 5:52 pm
- the previous Q&A section for Candidates on the CMCA Forums will not apply in this election.
- instead the club website shall contain the Q&A.
- any questions on the CMCA forum or any other facility will not be considered.
- questions need to be forwarded by email.
Second thoughts are that should a member email a question and that question is not displayed, for what ever reason, then the process would be open to a complaint of interference in the conduct of the election. I believe there are some pretty strict rules for election processes for board positions in private companies. Some might argue that interference is already in place. I am not sure that the website only publishing is a not disadvantage to the non-Interweb savvy members. Maybe all the comments and answers need to be published in the Wanderer, before closing of the election.
CMCA is kind of dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. A specific thread on the Forum, moderated by an external agency, to avoid partisan accusations) might be the answer.
