Commonwealth Games

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Yeah I ended up going to bed too, like the opening ceremony it just went on & on, became boring.
I did watch Eddie the Queen's son officially close the games he doesn't make an appearance very often.
Son cycled down to see us this arvo & home again.

'"The closing ceremony" , it was supposed to be about the athletes ......Not an athlete to be seen. Pretty poor i think. :( :( :( :(

Think the only athletes involved were the ones dancing when Anthony G., was singing, the performers who performed at the beginning were ok.
Anyway guess the positive note is that we did get a heap of medals, they did us proud, all over for another 4 years.

We didn't all run away, some of us stayed and tried to make the visitors have a memorable experience. If only we could have gotten our ex-premier Pete to flock off a few months ago the result may have been a little more favourable. Bloody disappointing in my opinion.

Maybe time to reflect on just what the games are all about, the opening and closing ceremony is only a bit of fluff and tinsel added on and it's time the organisers understood that and cut it back to just fluff and tinsel around the athletes, not a major theatrical production supported by the games themselves
A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows
Those who struggle to become a leader, rarely know a clear direction forward for anyone but themselves

Got that in one T1. At around $44 million for the opening and closing circus it would probably be a good idea to cut back on the 'Ours is bigger/better than theirs contest' and remember that it supposed to be about sport. I spoke with some friends who actually went to the swimming and they said it was very special and the venue had a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately they also paid good money to attend the closing ceremony and were bitterly disappointed with the performance and the organisation. There were no transport problems though, so at least they got that sorted.
