Installed Projector CD1000 battery charger, two 200w solar panels [total now 880w], removed rear window and resealed fitted two new tyres on front wheels, moved front to back and threw one tyre out, but had a used spare to refit. Removed tow bar from 5'er [used for bike rack].
Ran out of roof real estate to fit the other 200w solar panel so looks like its up for sale still in its carton $200.
pick up from central coast NSW.

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Recently pulled off the power steering pump as it was leaking like a sieve, turns out it's stuffed and at 40 years old no parts available.
The steering box has also developed a slight leak which is now understandable as quite a bit of metal has gone through the lines, so it has to come out as well.
What a job, the steering knuckles (like tie rod ends) just didn't want to come off, ended up damaging them getting them off as well, the cost is starting to mount up now...
OK, now undo the bolts holding the steering box onto the chassis, well the bottom 2 were OK to loosen, but it's just not possible to get to the 2 top ones.
So, lets see if the floor around the pedals can be removed - start taking off all the original vinyl flooring and found rust (of course) and bolts that can be removed to take out the floor.
OK, so now i have to take out the clutch pedal, Master cylinder may as well have a kit through it now i guess as well, the brake pedal, air brakes could do with checking anyway, and the accelerator pedal, which it turns out has been relocated further forward at some time leaving a hole in the floor and a bit of metal siliconed on over the top... They also managed to wreck the pedal movement which i was aware of but now know the reason why.
Of course the steering column has to come out, and lastly the headlight dimmer switch has to be removed as well, and of course the screws are rusted solid.
Now while I'm doing all this i am going to have to tackle this mess.

Think i might have to set up a bit of a competition to see who can guess the closest as to how many wires are in there?
It will stay like that for a while though, will do all the mechanical stuff i'm pulling off first.
Reckon I might wait for Wayne to come and help???
Cheers,

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
I was going to ask if Wayne did the wiring there
It does look familiar but he used green fluro cable ties and all the same coloured wires

We might have to allocate a Wayne 1 and 2 and 3 etc
But I will assume he is just another good bloke and stick to Bagmaker

No No No do not let Wayne 1 or 2 anywhere near your rig no matter what they say

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Bagman, that is not even in the running, far to organised and different coloured wires for each circuit. I think Margaret has a few photos of the Wayne & Nini birds nest wiring in one or two sections of the bus, she gave up when the fridge and microwave came out as that moved into electrical safety issues rather big time and she figured it was better not to have a record of that
Picture 2 x 240vac cables with exposed copper wire as the tree and vines growing up the tree trunk with runners going off at every possible point, sometimes tied back again to the tree trunk further up, but now a different colour. Even I had to disconnect the power when I saw that lot, simple put, luck was the only reason no one had been electrocuted previously when touching any of the 12v/24v wiring including the battery terminals.
