Re: Good morning daily
Get your doctor on side and go for a disability pension. They don't buck as much because the paperwork involved with internal and then external appeals starts to mount up on their side rather than your side and they cave in just to get rid of the paperwork. There are something like 5 levels of appeal, everyone down the line that refused the appeal gets a butt kick if the last one goes against them and has a bit in it about the dept not properly following procedures, I've seen upper level management change in major Centrelink offices as a result ...... they can't get sacked, but they can get moved sideways to a position they don't like, generally under others who had been moved sideways because of internal conflict. An ex had a sister who was high up in fact checking and preparing court papers for anyone cheating the system, that included internal and trouble within the "organisation" it is amazing just how complex and inter connected the various depts are ...... those never ending forms that appear as though one dept doesn't talk to another, is actually fact checking to ensure you tell the same story every time and no new information turns up because a question was asked in a slightly different way ......RobertNotBob wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:27 am Bernie where did you buy the aircon from please.
Had to cancel the week in Berri as the hip started to affect the lower right back. Every step was agony and effecting my driving so best to stay home. Managed to snag an appointment with the surgeon next Wednesday so hoping to arrange surgery time then for the hip replacement.
Went to Centre link yesterday to apply for the pension, certainly is a do it yourself place and staff not interested in going the extra millametre to help. Best to every one take care cheers Robert.

Re: Good morning daily
Move your super to a self manged fund, ask Margaret for the easy to use system that doesn't make accountants rich at your expense, then form your own company and make them the controlling body for your super fund ..... it's a paper trail but puts a blocker between you and the super, the company can say the super will not pay you a pension until xyz parameters are met, age, health etc, if the age is higher than pension age, you are left without a means of support ...... as the chairman of the board of the controlling company, it makes it much easier to get lump sum payments if needed and alter the direct you want your superfund to go at any time ...... you only have to convince yourself it's in your best interestsupersparky wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:38 am Good morning everyone. It another bright sunny and rather cool morning here. No frost though, so that a bargain.
Enjoy your golf Jon, it's Covid that has sent the world mad, I reckon.
Robert, I hope you have more success getting the pension than I did. You spend hours/days filling out a 17 page form, and get a one line response that says, nup. Too much in super, apparently.
We are off to the hospital again.
Safe travels everybody, have a top day.

Yep, that's what I should have done while I was still in the workforce. But unfortunately I didn't. You almost have to be a superannuation accountant to stay on top of the requirements and ever changing super laws that our gubment seems to enjoy imposing on the populace.T1 Terry wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 1:11 pmMove your super to a self manged fund, ask Margaret for the easy to use system that doesn't make accountants rich at your expense, then form your own company and make them the controlling body for your super fund ..... it's a paper trail but puts a blocker between you and the super, the company can say the super will not pay you a pension until xyz parameters are met, age, health etc, if the age is higher than pension age, you are left without a means of support ...... as the chairman of the board of the controlling company, it makes it much easier to get lump sum payments if needed and alter the direct you want your superfund to go at any time ...... you only have to convince yourself it's in your best interestsupersparky wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:38 am Good morning everyone. Re: Good morning daily
That is what this mob who Margaret uses, make it all possible, at a very small fee per yr and lots of tuition files if you want or need them ..... and they keep you on the straight and narrow so you don't fall foul of the authorities ....... and you actually get to keep the money your super earns, it doesn't vanish in fees the super mob collect for being nice people and doing what they want with your money, knowing fiull well, it will never come back to bite them, and they will still collect fees all the samesupersparky wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 2:19 pmYep, that's what I should have done while I was still in the workforce. Good morning everyone.
Bit of a slow day...I finished removing the bricks from the Ute.
I have removed the bottom part of the aircon in the motorhome...grrr there's always one bloody screw that won't undo... and in a spot that is hard to get to.... just about enough swearing and I got it
.
I will check the hole in the roof to see what it is and will the new aircon fit...
Carol has started laying bricks
.
That was about it for the day.
And as we all know... it's bacon and eggs day again
.
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. Its still black dark here. No rain at all yet, but the man says its coming.
Thanks for the B&E reminder Bernie. It's easy to lose track of days when you are just doing the hospital shuffle.
I hope the airco is an easy fit. Keep us posted please, and a few photos.
Not much to report here.
Safe travels everybody. Enjoy the rest of your weekend
